Africa Storytelling Circle

Join the African Storytelling Circle (ASC), a pan-African initiative dedicated to preserving, sharing, and celebrating Africa’s cultural and historical heritage through storytelling. At ASC, storytellers, historians, creatives, researchers, and cultural enthusiasts like YOU come together to safeguard indigenous knowledge and oral history for future generations.

For centuries, Africa’s powerful stories have gone untold, misrepresented, or lost in translation, while traditional storytellers have lacked platforms to preserve oral history. Griots, writers, and artists often face limited access to audiences and recognition. The result? Our stories fade into the shadows, replaced by voices that do not truly understand our heritage.

The African Storytelling Circle (ASC) is here to change that by building a vibrant community where storytelling becomes a tool for identity, leadership, education, and social connection.

Why ASC Exists

We are creating a global platform where authentic African stories are documented, shared, and celebrated uninterrupted. The ASC exists to preserve African oral history and indigenous knowledge systems while promoting storytelling as a pathway to leadership development and historical education.

Our work is guided by shared values; authenticity, heritage, community, leadership, and continuity ensuring that Africa’s wisdom, philosophies, and cultural practices are passed on across generations.

When you join ASC, you gain:

  • Emotional benefits such as identity, connection, and recognition
  • Intellectual growth through learning and a sense of pride.
  • Applicable value with real-life relevance and practical application.

We envision an Africa where

Every story is valued from village folktales to modern-day documentaries. African voices lead global conversations about Africa. Storytelling drives social change, inspires communities, and fuels cultural pride. The ASC is where this vision becomes reality — one storyteller, one project, one connection at a time.
